No matter how, this is the mutual agreement between Central Government, HKSAR and Democratic Party to make it happened. The complicated situation is due to the number of seats of Democratic Pary and that was the selection of the HK voters.

The long term target is to have the Chief Executive and LEGCO members to be selected by the public with one vote per voters. I think that democracy should be better with FOR THE PEOPLE and not BY THE PEOPLE. Who is the Chief may not be important, provided that the principle FOR THE PEOPLE is kept and would let citizen have nice living. There is priority with BY THE PEOPLE, all voters must understand what is individual and what is society. This is not the condition of Hong Kong people. Many cases proved that the majority had to give way for minority, such society is not suitable for BY THE PEOPLE.

Some years ago, I had organized several Workshop for my photographic students. With a year to train their creation, the final would be an exhibition. Everything from looking for sponsors (usually Kodak and Canon), selection of their works, mounting, printing booklets to arranging dinner to celebrate etc. were decided by me. Besides the normal lecture fee, the budget for exhibition always needed my contribution. A few students had some complaint. So for the last Workshop, I asked them to arrange the dinner. The outcome was their choice based on mine for the previous Workshop. With my encouragement, they arranged an exhibition by themselves the following year. Due to each had individual idea, there were several fierce argument. Fortunately, the exhibition could be opened, but they never continued such co-operation again. Remember that all of them had been trained like me not to care for money and fame, yet such problem still existed. That is because when each one can give individual idea and there is no one powerful enough to take the final choice will lead to such dilemma.

Just look at some countries, without the condition and blindly taken the BY THE PEOPLE selection system. The outcome is only the opposition that made everything failed giving pain to the country and the people. I am not discussing the problem of system, therefore would not be continued this time.

At that time, under the leadership of Dèng Xiǎo Píng, the Basic Law was created. It has the idea of keeping the Hong Kong system without change for fifty years, and the political reform with gradual steps towards the complete democratic voting. I already found it quite ambiguous, fifty years without change accompanied by change of voting in about twenty years. I thought that the choice of fifty years was based on the assumption that those Chinese style traitors would be passed away and the new generation would have a higher percentage of patriotic. Will this really happen remains unknown.

Basing on the present situation, although the media is still controlled by Chinese style traitors, but in the society, there are many denouncing their reportage. A new situation with twenty years more will be possible. That is because the one behind the curtain, the America has tremendous change. I believe that President Bush had once said that they had spent 20 million US dollars annually for supporting the democratic movement of Hong Kong still remains part of the CIA's budget, but just check the huge change for the works of the "Voice of America" in recent years and the cases related to China. The American can change easily just like their marriage, any time the deepest love can change to something cold as ice.

In case of selection a Chinese style traitor as Chief Executive, what would happen? First, Hong Kong is not allowed to handle foreign affairs and military, so "bringing foreign force to invade Hong Kong" will not happened. One thing we ought to remember, after the turnover when China authority allowed the Kitty Hawk to visit Hong Kong, we found smiling faces everywhere that date just like a festival. I thought what would American marine look for? We know since childhood that they looked for female and motherhood, did it mean that most Hong Kong people had someone in the family working for that. We could look at the TV, most female reporters looked like meeting rain in long period of drought, fortunately we did not have smell from TV, otherwise there would be a great embarrassment. So if that would be welcomed by the Chief Executive, the marine can select for their comfort like a beauty contest in the Government House. So what? The premier of that time would answer the question of "Is there prostitute in China?" with "Yes, in the place where England had ruled for over one hundred years, Hong Kong, that is a good example of One Country Two System".

As for economy, there is nothing to worry. First Hong Kong needs to based on spending upon income, second, Hong Kong citizen have the highest sensitivity to money, when their benefits are affected, they would not care whether it is their father or good friend, they will fight to the end. The Central Authority just have to say now that since Hong Kong needs not handing over any tax to the Central, if there are problem in the future, Central may not give a helping hand, unless similar to other province of cities in the mainland.

Moreover, China now is not like the beginning of economic reform, the Hong Kong effect is diminishing. With ten or tweny years ahead, there may not have any contribution at all, even as an example of unity to Taiwan may not be important than the change of policy by America.

F. These included the ISO, WTO and intellectual copyright.

Now, you cannot find any saying about ISO. That is because many if not all exporting manufacturers in China know how to apply for. The belittling done by foreigners is understood because they still dreamed about the lasting periods of the Qing Dynasty. We must be astonished that people in Hong Kong who migrated from mainland China would think in similar way.

The WTO was taken as something that far from China because of the difference in principles. Spending much effort and years, the joining of WTO has been successful but with no benefits at all. Therefore, there is no more talking about WTO now.

It is only a bit more than twenty years; China finally starts to claim the copyright for some creative designs\ and want to collect instead of paying for the copyright. Of course, with the largest market in the world, it is easy to win over others.

In other words, China has now achieved the basics of developed nations. Yet, China is still claiming the status of developing country today and possibly in the future for many more years. Certainly, this way can comfort all foreigners as well as those in Hong Kong.

So, being belittled is not a bad thing providing you know how to manage your problem.
The only thing that I would worry is that some newly rich Chinese may not aware of this.

F. Of course, Mr. Li can deal with such question with easy. He also took this chance to complain indirectly the decision of Present Obama to meet with Dalai Lama and to sell weapon to Taiwan. If you missed that release, you can read this:

When President Obama was elected, it was said that he should be much better than previous presidents with a much greater abilities and intelligence. I had a bit worried because China is still not yet suitable to conquer with American challenge.

When American announced that weapon would be sold to Taiwan as well as Obama would meet Dalai Lama, I feel happy because this indicated to me that President Obama is just another president who do not know how to challenge China for the rising up.

Of course it is politic, it is always good to show kind of annoyance otherwise the American would not be happy.

Remember that such happening would repeat again and again and it is good to have several package of reaction perhaps somewhat creative so that it can have a better performance.
Do not force the American President to do something else that would not be easy to deal with.

F. Of course, the language is English and it is just the same as China insisted for when dealing with the foreign countries after the Opening Up.

There is not a copyright issue and I think that people just try not to show that Obama has to follow the Chinese way.

This proves that the Chinese leaders have gradually taken the leading role of various events. This will be a good but also some thing dangerous. Remember not long ago, the same Obama insisted that American could not be number two?

I hope, but of course I have the confidence, that Chinese leaders will not forget this important fact. We all know that China is becoming stronger everyday and we must not forget that China had been invaded by the Eight Nation alliance. Today, there will not be the same again, yet other civilized challenge may become irrational.

It will be safe just to keep what happened as something to cheer about in tea time.

F. This case has become the topic of gossip, blogs etc. from east to west. Of course, it will be only Zhang Lei himself knows the reason behind this decision. Every other is just guessing including mine.

I believe the difference of concept is the Yale education. Zhang Lei had been trained to think internationally instead. If the donation was for any university in China, the case is domestic and would not be taken seriously the world over.

No matter what, the gossip would be silent soon. I believe that his business would move to a higher level because this donation has put him to the world. Today, any big corporation must be international, especially for investment and financial. If he is the only one in China to know, then we must say China has a long way to become a big powerful nation.

F. Of course, now there is no earthquake in California. We can be sure that there will be in the future. So blaming China first is an international practice including fortune-tellers and scientists.

Remember those epidemic cases; the first to blame is China. That is a simple rule and that means if you want to graduate with any degree or honor, you know how to get the score.

See "Possible Link Between Dam and China Quake" and you know what I am saying.

Just like recently, there is a saying that because of China depositing too much money in America letting them spent freely and so created the financial crisis today.

I feel like sometimes ago, those people blaming HK Government not to care for those mothers. Something like they were raped by the Chief Executive to give birth so the Chief Executive had duty to look after them. This stupid fallacy may travel to elsewhere and be ready to face the blame that China has duty for those born everywhere.

Possible Link Between Dam and China Quake"你會明白我說什麼。

F. I cannot find when it started. The only point I can tell is most may have this concept when they become better off.

Nearly all western medicine are not hundred percent effective and most are with side effect, some even fatal. Just like drug for influenza, sometimes one would die and it is said that this is one among million to be so. No objection for those who have no relatives died this way.

Now, a few Chinese medicines in newly developed form for injection that came up with side effect, even the CCTV has a special show about this. May be I missed, I have never seen any such program for problems of western medicine.

This is the saddest thing to know that we point finger at some culture that developed by our ancestors for thousands of years while taking any foreign thing as treasure. That is the only reason that we had suffered and insulted by foreign devils for about one hundred year.

Well, may be one day we find that foreigners are taking Chinese medicine and Chinese are taking western medicine.

For tens of years, I found that a lot of cancer patients recovered only when they turned to Chinese medication. Even today, my Chinese Doctor has been busy with dozen of cancer patients, some recommended by the Western Doctors because they know that western method fails to deal with cancer.

The wonderful thing about lives is that there is no second chance. Some may disagree with me. Well, each one has his own choice and I have no obligation to save them.

Certainly, there are many cases that Chinese medication failed to save those dying patients because they changed to Chinese medication too late.

I have a photographic student some years ago. I already realized that he would have cancer because I found that he ordered spicy food and cold Coca-cola during lunch. This showed to me that his body was out of order. He would not believe me, but he was lucky that there is a X-ray technician in the same class. This technician advised him not to see the western doctor and introduced him to a Chinese doctor. So he recovered. The technician later became a Chinese Doctor.

F. Not developing countries only, even those developed countries are lack of the power to solve this problem.

Price of medicine goes sky high because the R&D costing millions or even billions.

There are several vital points that we have to check. Why people get sick? Why people failed to guard their health? Why R&D costs so much? Why government has to offer free or low price medication?

Yes, I was born in Hong Kong. A nice rich port which gives free or very low cost medication. There are quite many medical insurance services. No, I never go to government hospital. No, I never get refund because I preferred Chinese herbalists instead of western doctors even since I was a teenager.

Chinese lives for thousands of years with no western medication. If you suppose we were the weaker race, you forgot that our population is the first in the world till now. Science is about fact, not fallacy.

When I had fallen sick at the age of 10, I intent to learn medication so that I could look after my health in the future.

That is lucky for me because I could find lots of books from mainland China and foreign countries in Hong Kong and at the age of about 14, the Hong Kong public library was established that offered books to borrow with no charge.

In simple words, my knowledge about Chinese medication was based on those Chinese books.
I am not going to talk about my history now. Just to give two cases, my Jaundice at the age of 19 and my diabetes just this year at the age of 60.

No need to see the doctor, I recovered from my Jaundice in three weeks’ time because I had full knowledge of this problem. If you go to see the doctor, you are certain to have Gallstone and have to surgically remove the gall-bladder.

I have my own plan to deal with diabetes with the help of Chinese medication. It took five months only to recover from diabetes.

I have put these and other in my English blog, http://healthhuman.blogspot.com/.

There are lots to say later. This time, let's see why most got sick after the 'open up'. Not epidemic, not natural disaster; most got sick because they ate too much and worst of all, those foods that their body could not handle. Should we pity them? No, they deserved such outcome.
What responsibility the government has about this? It may be hard for the government to ask the citizens not to eat too much; that is not good for the economy. It may be hard for the government to educate the citizens; because most professors are nothing better than prostitutes, money is their common target.

I am not telling the government what to do. I am saying here for those who prefer to help themselves.

If you prefer to wait for the government to offer you free medication so that you can keep on ignorant about health, if you trust those doctors, agents of medicine manufacturers, do not read further here.

Remember during the dark age of China before the success of the Communist, the authority almost abandon Chinese medication.

Now China is richer now, will the government follows the same. Well, rich is a sickness that cannot be cured.

F. Not only have the various successful events from Olympic to space walked; now it is the financial strength.

I am sure that no one can expect China will have the status today, just about thirty years of opening up.

Remember the very first stage, when China was cheated by Japan with inferior quality machineries, finger-pointing by America with just earning a few cents per pair of shoes, turning a cold shoulder by European nations?

Perhaps the worst thing is have Hong Kong people taking advantage of cheap land cheap labor, getting lots of profit, yet pretending to be the victim for China's Open Up.

I had asked those who said so why not moved the factories away if they suffered so hard. Of course, we know their answers. ince I have nicknamed them to be the cancer of China, let's drop them down now.

One thing I learn from my years' observation. Gossip and rumours in China are a kind of habit. The same person who criticized authority might argue about the goodies of communist party the next day. Chinese, including those in Hong Kong etc., are always against the government and are always trying their best to cheat the government to avoid tax.

Although the G7 is ready to become G20 and it started to name China as the vital part for the future, I believe China authority will be so naïve to accept such privilege.

Of course, we shall see more bullish Chinese, the same as those American after the World War. We may need them because the world needs some points to make joy of and this will keep China look like less powerful.

Just check the difference before and after the SARS. After China released more visitors to Hong Kong trying to help the recovery, The manner of these visitors took a great turn from humble to ego.

If China has to help other countries, please do not take the same method. With Hong Kong, it is a domestic event. With other countries, it is international. A thousand ugly Chinese tourists would make the country shame.

F. Of course. Is there any unsafe food produced in China? Of course. Is China the only country with food safety violation? Of course not.

But whenever there is a case, the usual way is to blow it up and make it big, so that all Hong Kong citizens are frightened and rejected to buy those Chinese products.

Do not blame solely on the press. They had mentioned the full story, though the vital part will not be repeated. For example, about the poison egg case, it is said that if one ate twelve eggs a day, there would be harmful. As usual, most had not aware of the quantity; just to say happily that Chinese eggs were poisonous.

Who in the world would eat twelve eggs everyday? Need not to say; only idiot may do so.

No one will care about the truth because they all enjoy pointing finger at China. That is the common belief in Hong Kong.

F. The western, or may be better called the American, system of economy has been prosperous for tens of years after the World War II. Almost as a golden rule for all developing countries to follow.

The stock market, the bond and fund, the financial products etc. are so fascinating that draw most investors the world over to a desperate state.

The belief that American would not be fraudulent, the big financial firm would not collapse, the bank would not be bankrupted are the major factor of today's failure.

To solve the problem, the so called free economic country has to apply governmental control, swallowing bad debts is the first step, taking over banks will be the next.

China must open the eyes to see such fall out of economic system that has been envied for some years.

In the 60's, an elder relative asked me about a fund called Dollar. I was a secondary school student at that time. I checked the terms and told him that since huge profit only offered for five years while any early withdrawal would suffer loss, it was a great risk if the fund closed four years after. Of course, I believed that he had invested some money because he trusted the fund, a fund from the America. Needless to say, the fund collapsed in four years.

Unfortunately, until today, there are many Chinese still believe America wholeheartedly. Luckily, China is still ruled by communist party. No matter how, the party doctrine cannot be changed.

I admire American too, but not blindly.

F. This is the sad side of life. Our greatest leaders, Chairman Mao and Premier Chou did not have the chance to share the joy with us.

Of course, some have said that great ones needed not to see the outcome because they were sure what would happen.

This can never be proved. It is just to comfort our sadness.

The best I can say is that great one or not, one has to do the best for the country. To have a great success is just faith only.

No matter we agree or not, China would not be so success today if not for their effort and loyal successors.

I just hope that most Chinese should keep in mind about this. Success can spoil one’s mind. Go back to history and refresh one’s mind about the failure of every dynasty that was once strong and rich.

F. S. team failed by dropping the baton during the semi-final of men's 4x100 relay, there was a saying in Hong Kong that this might be due to the rain in Beijing at that moment.

Well, it is an idiot assumption. Why only the U.S. team dropped the baton?

I take this as the first title of my series of rhapsody.

If the rain in Beijing worked on U.S. only, then it is a great chance to make a fortune.Establish a company, get a trade mark and start to sell this rain water.

Where to sell? Of course, Middle East.

Remember the 911 event? That very night, many people in Arabia etc. offered big feast to celebrate.

Of course, this marketing must be arranged skillfully. The brand may be SUNWOD. What this mean? Arabian is read from right to left.

F. There are two major factors, politic and economic.

All western countries leading by America are against communism. Most Chinese moving to Hong Kong and elsewhere are from rich families.

The 2008 Olympic is a great work of China. So much investment, so much work, that this is called the most expensive Olympic. But, as usual, there are lots of negative comments.

The air condition, the heat, the aim of China etc. are selected topics. One example can be read from "U.S. Cyclists Are Masked, and Criticism Is Not". I believe that these four athletes were innocent and the masks were really given by the USOC staff without the approval of the USOC administration. This is also a proof about the American disorder.

A few days ago, when Chinese female tennis player won in a match, an ATV commenter said that was due to the heat of Beijing. Does it mean that the Olympic Game has to take place in America only? See "Running on Fumes in Beijing".

I keep watching the outcome of these games. Finally, there are lots of world records from swimming, shooting and tracks.Does it mean that the bad air condition of Beijing offers the best environment for breaking world records? The 9.68 sec. record in 100 meter is great, not only for record, but also the winner is not American and Chinese.

Another comment in America said that China hosting the Olympic has the aim to get more gold medals. Ah, I never heard any one hosting country looking for less gold medals. This tells us that America has become the real paper tiger that China had pointed out long time ago.

It is simple to realize that after the anti doping efforts, America cannot win many medals as before.

After the Olympic, will the negative comment end? No, they will remain the same as before. It may be good for China so they have to continue fighting inside and outside.

U.S. Cyclists Are Masked, and Criticism Is Not".

Running on Fumes in Beijing"。

F. Ivins, committed suicide just before he would be tried in court.

The case is about seven letters containing anthrax were mailed, resulting in 22 infections; five people died.

I am not interest about what Americans had done to their own people; that is home affair. But the news I heard from ATV Asia channel is another sample of the HK Style news technique.

They said that Bruce E. Ivins needed to check if anthrax vaccination was effective. With a sweet tone, this message would let us believe that Bruce E. Ivins should be a hero of his country.

One can check "Bruce E. Ivins from Wikipedia" or "Anthrax suspect, scientist, kills self as FBI closes in" etc., it is easy to know that this case has nothing to do with vaccination.

Why Bruce E. Ivins committed suicide? Did he afraid to face trial? If so, why he did that? These may never be proved because of his death.

If the reason is about anthrax vaccination, he should not be the only one handling planning and operation, there must be some official person etc. to give the truth.

What the ATV news would be if this case happened in China?

只須查看 “Bruce E. Ivins from Wikipedia” 或 “Anthrax suspect, scientist, kills self as FBI closes in”等，根據沒有與炭疽毒免疫有關。

Bruce E. Ivins

F. In short, they said that if reporters could not do anything they liked, then China should not say ready.

For the case of Li Yapeng, most of them except one female insisted that celebrity relies on reporters to become famous; therefore reporters could take any photos of the celebrities and their families.

Well, whether they are right or not will depend who we ask. Checking "The Hong Kong Reporters Deserve To Be Beaten", all video clips were from the TV channels, just like the CNN case, we cannot see the whole story.

The best tool for foreigners is the reporters of Hong Kong. After 1997, HK is part of mainland. I do believe that USA had done a great job tens of years ago by investing for a Hong Kong university with the first Communication course.

Hong Kong must not be stable; otherwise Taiwan will face the pressure of uniting with mainland China. This is a simple truth. Most Hong Kong people would not like to be ruled by China, this is a simple fact.

That is why I put the title "Hong Kong is the cancer of China". Cancer will not be cured by western medication. Yet most clever patients who turned to Chinese medication can survive. Surgery or radiation will not help. The complex method of Chinese medication is a good guide to treat Hong Kong, the cancer of China.

Although there were news reports basing on those from Hong Kong, yet this time I cannot find any effective response in foreign countries. Perhaps most of their leaders are getting ready to join the Olympic Opening and trying not to avoid the choice of giving up this chance.

The cancer acts at the wrong time.

One more thing, if there is no readers no reporter will try to take such photos or to create such news. They may be bad, but the readers are even worse.

The Hong Kong Reporters Deserve To Be Beaten?

F. It is certain that no winning or loss and these topics would never be over because those foreign countries need to keep it that way.

Same as I said before, everything has two sides of story telling. In modern time, I mean after the kingdom, nothing can be solved directly and with full acceptance. That is the problem of democratic.

Just like the Tibet event this year, we shall face manipulated images, the famous CNN photo may happen again. The shameless foreign reporting will copy from each selected source again. Fortunately, with the western developed Internet, we have some Chinese with time and abilities to work against such informative invasion.

The anti-CNN is a good work and I hope that they will continue to watch what happen in August 2008. CCTV may become the only trustworthy reporting channel after the Game.

Some reporters may be expelled and there may be events in Tibet and Xinjiang. Some foreign athletes may try to do some naïve acts. It is possible for some who know that they cannot win and the best is to be expelled instead of failure in competition. That would give the Olympic authority lots of trouble.

Just like the earthquake, it is another grand test for China.

In the history of modern China, the year of 2008 will be a turning point. Am I nervous? Yes, certainly.

Yet, it is interesting even before the Game. The dance of French President, the braveness of British Prime Minister, the assertive participation of American President will be hardly forgotten.

F. Before the western style of business, no one should stand against learning from each other. That is the major factor for human to develop from primitive to modernization today.

After learning from China, Greek etc., the westerners developed many technologies and declared intellectual property. However, that is OK because we know that we can play their games.

Everyone knows that Chinese medication is developed in China for thousands of years. Japan learns from China, no doubt about this. But when American copies any Chinese medical knowledge, they said that this is learnt from Japan.

From "China Inspired Interrogations at Guantánamo", I remember that this is the first time American said they learnt from China.

Yes, this is something not so good. That is why they are honest this time.

Such behavior is really childish. It is not eligible to complain at all.

For several years before, China has spent too much trying to learn from America and almost achieved nothing. Fortunately, China finally has home grown intellectuals and gradually develops lots of new technique and knowledge.

The success is based on the open mind initialized by Deng Xiao Ping.

I just hope that China will not follow the egoism of America. After the earthquake, I feel that China may be too confident and many Chinese are moving towards egoism. With the success of the coming Olympic Game, that is not something to be disregarded.

A great nation needs true respect from others, not self declared.

Will we see Ugly Chinese, adding to the Ugly American in the future? I hope not!

F. When I was asked about this, I said 'made in China' would be success because 'made in Japan' required tens of years to move from low to high quality and 'made in China' improved much faster.

That is the average and not covering everything. Even those products made in USA, Japan etc. are not all in high quality.

The world's factory, a common term for China, is comprised of the most complicated structure of manufacturing. State owned, private owned, joint venture, Hong Kong investment, Taiwan investment, foreign investment, foreign outsourcing suppliers, sub-contracted suppliers etc. are all taken as 'made in China'.

Perhaps we have not known that ammunition of USA is also made in China until we read "American Envoy Is Linked to Arms Deal Cover-Up". Of course, this is for Iraq.

I just hope that if Iraq failed to control the country, 'made in China' ammunition would not be blamed.

Remember the Baxter case. When we buy a medicine, who will we trust? It is the brand. That company should be responsible for everything from raw materials to production. Not so, see "A Blood Thinner Might Be Linked to More Deaths" and it is certain that they blamed the unregulated farmer in China who supplied the sick pigs. In order word, the medicine should be labeled 'China Unregulated Farmer' instead of Baxter. Ah, I forget who get the most profit, not the farmers, of course.

Such saying from a world leading country is so naïve that I do not know how to call it.

When I found some people in Hong Kong expressing their dislike to China, I would say "Those who dislike China should not eat any food from China; otherwise he would be dead by bleeding from all opening. Those who earn a dollar from China would suffer ten generation of bad luck.". Once I said so in a bus, the driver almost headed for accident. See, if you do what you say, you are a man; otherwise you are not worth for me to condemn.

American Envoy Is Linked to Arms Deal Cover-Up之前未知悉美國軍火都是【中國製造】。

A Blood Thinner Might Be Linked to More Deaths，明顯是指責沒有管制的中國農民供應有病的豬隻。

F. There will not be any rescue because the investors were not victim.

Why one wanted to invest in stock? It is quick profit, of course.

If you buy a stock at its face value, it is certain that the chance of earning is very high. If you do not know the difference between face value and market value, you are a sure prey for predator.
In Hong Kong, the only healthy stock market is the 60'. From 70's onward, the stock market has become a gambling ground. The famous Hang Send Index 1700 had lead many people especially housewives and elder people lost every dollar.

Before the catastrophe, almost all newspapers had reported the rising price of this or that stock making everyone crazy. Only one or two well-established newspapers had very small essays saying that it would be better to invest instead of speculation.

Similar cases happened elsewhere and in different period. This proves the saying, a fool and his money soon parted.

Of course, a very few will earn or suffer no loss. Of course, someone must earn all their loss.
Can any of them be saved? No, you cannot ask them to withdraw from this money hunting game.
There are many reasons including:

most know nothing about stock;
most have money and so greedy to get more;
they listen to good news only;
even someone advises them, they will not listen;
with the initial earning, they are proud and suppose to be the most diligent investor.

The money is not evaporated, just changed hand only if there is no foreign involvement.

Will any government be responsible for people who loss from gambling? The most one can do is to safeguard against fraud.

Of course, trying all means to educate people is important. But is any university working on this? No, they train those who can grasp money from stock market only.

I have many thing to say about stock, but let's see later.

F. Many assumptions will include government secret test, corruption etc.

If that happened in America, well, no one will say anything. Why? The basic humanity is all men are equal. Such discrimination is the sad thing that Chinese should aware of.

The news article, "F.D.A. America is said to be the best in humanity and with advanced technology and great wealth. This sounds like propaganda only.

Of course, there are many difficulties to administrate a country. Not only China, not only America, any country in the world has different problems to have everything perfect.

If you cannot understand this, please do not complain without investigation. If you like to go anywhere but China, sure you know where is the airport.

I know that many people who like to have some companion so that they are not alone. A prostitute would like to have many friends to follow so to comfort her from wrong doing. A gambler who lost everything would like to guide many friends to gamble like him. That is a common behavior of human.

My concern is that some who are supposed to be intellectuals yet failed to have full knowledge expressing the wrong message.

I can say any fallacy because I am no body and no one will trust me.

F.D.A. Says Source of Tainted Tomatoes May Stay a Mystery是在2008年6月16日刊出，至今沒有任何評論出現。

F. After his case was broadcasted, his son did not want to go to school. When his father asked why, he said all classmates pointed fingers at him because his father was such a bad guy.

I have said in my post here on May 20, 2008 about taking the earthquake case to teach the children against corruption.

Certainly, there is no way to get rid of corruption completely and there is no country free from corruption.

There are many reports, e.g. "Mississippi Lawyer Pleads Guilty in Bribery Case", "Top City Crane Inspector Accused of Taking Bribes" etc. in America.

In fact, the corruption in China is of low level while those happened elsewhere are much sophisticated. It happened that a country leader got a huge donation from a billionaire to a non-profit fund named after him and for the purpose of supporting his work.

Can non-profit fund be used by a person? Yes, it just needs a title like humanity research etc.
That is why there is no solid way to erase corruption except when all children want their parents to be clean of this.

I remember that some years ago, a Chinese told me that he had took the risk of smuggling for the wealth of his family and accepted it might take the cost of his life.

In a big country with over billion people, it will take some times to enforce anything. But, it must be started now. The 'Exposure' broadcast is one of the great tools.

有不少報導，例如在美國的“Mississippi Lawyer Pleads Guilty in Bribery Case“，“Top City Crane Inspector Accused of Taking Bribes”等。

F. Why someone is better than me? Why someone is higher than me?

Certainly, this is a good thing to compare if we know what we are looking for. If Deng Xiaoping had not compare China with the other countries, he might not have confidence to push forward the Open Up policy that lead China to a powerful country today.

Just the press release today, there is a reporter asking authority about the comparison between earthquake in Kobe and in Wenchuan. Everyone knows that there were only ten deaths in Kobe so far and we have close to eighty thousands in Sichuan.

If we have another earthquake in Sichuan in 2021, I am sure that the death toll will be much lower, perhaps one thousands. Remember that the last earthquake in Kobe is in 1995 when there were over 6,400 deaths.

China is still not yet better than Japan in science and technology. Due to its specific location, Japan is the best in the world for seismic study and anti-earthquake civil engineering.

Even if China can build such type of houses, who will pay? Have any government in world build all houses for their people? Except only those who have very few population and rich in oil like Brunei etc.

Throughout these years, I have been asked by many about: Why USA is so rich and why China is so poor? Why Japan has become a rich and strong nation after defeated in World War II?

It is sad to know so many who never read history when so called education standard has been modernized. I have said that education should not be started from school only and should not end after school. That means the education system is rubbish and shame to be named so.

For the time being, I only heard once about the inaccurate warning of the Kobe earthquake. Therefore, I shall check later if there is any written information. Just like what I have said about the difficulties about forecasting, it is also an important factor if all nationals would not complain when the forecast was wrong. At least, you would not hear any negative report about Japan. See, it is political.

F. Therefore, freedom to report is important for the sake of the people.

Taking this point as a mean to raise discontent without a righteous cause is a political tool instead.

May be there is only two ways of reporting the earthquake now, either broadcasting the good things as CCTV or picking some selfish discontent of naïve people.

So the other date, ATV reported some people were discontent because the monument they had built at a damaged building where bodies of their children buried down below was broken down by authority.

For personal, it is certain that everyone will be sad and hope to do something to comfort their minds.

Just think about the whole picture, there are thousands bodies still buried down below the ruins. Most have relatives alive. If all of them want to set up a monument, there will be hundreds if not thousands around. These sites need to be clear and reconstructing will be arranged. This kind of thing will lead to chaos and add burden to the leaders.

Just take the 911 event, there were thousands buried under the collapsed towers, their relatives had not done anything like that. We may not like everything of American, yet their reasonable response is the reason that they can have selections. Yes, I am saying that since most Chinese are selfish in comparison, any such selection would be a disaster to the country. Of course, we can see what happened to America these years and it is certain that very system would have its drawback.

Without certain good quality, becoming rich will increase the degree of selfishness. That is the problem China will face in the future.

For the earthquake, we can see the freedom to report has highly appreciated. But it is a need to watch if such opening will give other countries a way to bring troubles instead.

F. But for about some years from 1985 with my Photo Education Program, I had operated many photo trips and events for participating secondary schools in Hong Kong.

Basing on these small scale operations, I had experience to say something and I shall assume that my activities were reported by CCTV and local reporters.

If happened once during a photo trip to the Ocean Park. There were about 300 participants. My arrangement was for each school, there would be a maximum of 20 students and one teacher. I had ordered lunch boxes from a fast food company appointed by Ocean Park and requested them to deliver at noon time that day.

There was heavy rain that day all over Hong Kong except the Ocean Park. Therefore that fast food company failed to arrive in time. It was not easy to face about 300 hungry young ones. The assumed CCTV reporter would report that the weather was so bad that the delivery of lunch boxes were not possible to arrive in time; the assumed HK reporter would report that the organizer failed to care for the youngster.

Finally, the lunch boxes arrived about an hour late. I must control the order of distribution and therefore based on the list of participation. That event was operated by me and my wife with assistance from two teachers. So I asked them to hand over to two representatives of each school for the total number that I announced, The assumed CCTV reporter would report that the distribution of lunch boxes to participants was handled orderly; the assumed HK reporter would rush to some students whose school had not been called and asked them what they felt. Certainly, these hungry young ones would complain that the organizer was not care for them.

Facing some hungry students around me, I told them that they would never be the last one to eat. The last one was me and I ordered my wife not to eat until we had distributed to everyone. The students of the last school were awarded with two lunch boxes each.

Just think about distributing food or tents to hundred thousands of disaster victims. There is no way to give simultaneously to every one. It is so easy to motivate some impatient victims to complain or enough them to do bad things just take photos and make news and good enough for the foreign countries to keep it in the 'against China' data record.

One more thing we have to know. There are good and bad guys everywhere. Not all victims are good guys. Bad guys can be victims too.

F. I have pointed out before about the change of Time Magazine. Ever since they employed correspondents in Asia, most articles about China were not up to the minimum standard of Time. That is why now I have some issues of Time remained unopened.

There are different edition of Time magazines and that would be for business’s sake so that they can have advertisement from different region. I have not compared among these editions and I believe most content will be similar. Of course, my subscription is for Time Asia.

The cover story of Jun. 2, 2008 issue is China Stands Up. After going through, I am astonished that it is so naïve that I supposed that I was reading local propaganda English reporting. After checking the list of editor etc., I understand why. From producer to editorial, almost all are Asian, perhaps Chinese. Sorry, I may make mistake. Their names look like Chinese and they may not be Chinese.

It is so easy to see that the whole story is taking some parts of what have been reported in other media and added with some propaganda statements, like corruption etc.

If Time Asia needs to be part of American political action, not only readers will depart from it, it will not have advertisement at all. Of course, if that would be true, they do not need advertising income any more.

What happened this year is believed to be a plan to harm China. A few friends in mainland told me that they understood that America will take this chance, the Olympic year, to do something, like harvesting their investment for Dalai Lama etc.

Just see the composed news photo or taking movie scene or taking what happened in Nepal to blame China that is a full co-operation of a number of foreign countries. However, God is on the side of China. The earthquake happened just in time.

I am deeply sorrow for those who died and suffered. In fact, from May 14 till now I watched CCTV through the Internet and my eyes were full of tears most of the time.

Every one of us will die soon or later. If one's death contributes to the country, he/she is a hero. I am happy to know that a memorial set up will be arranged for all who died during this earthquake. That means they will have glory in history forever.

I am sure that American failed to understand Chinese people and I can write a book about this. Of course, I shall not.

China will stand up. The success will hardly be understood by American mind. No problem, who care?

F. Just like fortune tellers, with if one among thousands of forecasts really happened, then this will be the selling point forever.

If thing is simple, just like a race in Hong Kong, there are maximum of fourteen horses for one race. Can all of us get the winner? If so, we can be the richest man in the world. If you have many friends, you can offer tips for each one with a different horse. Fourteen friends will be enough. Then you can have free dinner every time because one of them will win.

When it comes to nature, can any specialist tell exactly when and where the earthquake will occur? Don't tell me it would be a province or a couple of year. It is not possible.

Of course, the warning will be like "There will be an earthquake possibly Richter Scale around 7 and may happen within a couple of years." So what can administrators do? Let's assume that such warning is really accepted. First, a plan must be arranged and then the fund will be raised before any operation.

The area has millions of people, many thousands of building. It is a simple fact that it is impossible to rebuild all of them simultaneously. So the administrators will ask the experts where would be more urgent. Can the specialists pin-pointed where? Now, after the quake, even an idiot can say where.

How about evacuation? Again, it is impossible to migrate millions of people together. Even if we can find somewhere suitable for them, so where we have to start first? Can specialists say?
I am not against scientists. To offer their warning is their duty. To say why not enact in time is their ignorance.

Do you think people in that area will listen to this assumption? If Chinese authority forces people to evacuate, that will be taken as kind of conspiracy by the whole world.

Furthermore, to evacuate such number of people is not a simple thing. They need home, they need work, they need education, they need medication etc. Can we build a city in a few years?
Another point about money, can we ask for contribution because there will be earthquake forecasted by specialist?

See "Experts Warned of Quake Risk in China" and you know what I am talking about.
No one would prefer to live on top of a fault. Their ancestors did not know. OK, Chinese is lack of scientific knowledge. How about America? San Francisco and many cities are built on top of various faults. I have pointed this out here in May 18 and asked readers to see "The Next Big One—Earthquake Technology".

The most annoying thing is not the earthquake, but those ignorant people telling nonsense.

Experts Warned of Quake Risk in China就可以明白我說什麼。

F. There are many reasons. I do not have time to follow; I do not like to argue with someone without actual knowledge. For this blog, I only write when I need to rest during my work.

Everyone loves his/her own country. If a country has decided to do something, the support from nationals is a principle factor. Of course, when a certain action was failed, like the invasion by Germany and Japan, all their people would keep silent and pretended not involving with the failed motive.

If you like to see those comments after Sharon’s famous wording, please browse "Under God".

We have different concept and valuation for each leader or event. That is the best thing of human society.

Just like Sun Yat-sen, most Chinese respect him. I admit that he was not selfish; he cared for the country; but he was lack of the leadership and therefore making mistakes with kind intention.
Just like you and me who are lack of leadership, we would not do any harm because no one would follow us, not to say sacrifice.

I have met American, British, German, Dutch and Japanese. Even if controversial subject was raised, I would take a neutral standing and avoided going into details. The simple truth is everyone will support his/her own country. Just like an old Chinese saying, “Do not complain their parents when you talk to the sons or daughter”.

Why we need to talk about China with foreigner? I do not talk with foreigner about the wrong-doing of their countries.

Just the other days I told some friends that American always said "I love you". That is a true expression at that very moment. But that would be gone to-morrow, even move to hate. Chinese does not want to say that because that will be a commitment and may have to stand by it for the whole life.

If you have watched the "Power of 10", it happened once with a question, "How many percent of American would pay for double price for an American flag made in USA instead an American flag made in China?". The audience at the time expressed their dislike of "made in China". The MC, Drew Carey, said that if you looked around yourself, you must have something made in China, either your utilities or even your underwear. The participant's girl friend also expressed that what American said was not what they have done.

So why argue with this type of people about China? Just have a drink and talk about NBA or so would be fine.

F. That is political.

Years ago, if one tried to seek business opportunity in Beijing, one had to get drunk because they believed that the truth would be spoken when one was out of mind, drunken, of course.

I had a colleague who was pro-American, pro-Taiwan and anti-communism. We always argued about any issue related to China. Then I asked him whether he knew that China had almost divided into eight parts by foreign countries including America. Of course, he would not believe me. But after he was aware of this historical fact, he started to change his attitude.

After he had retired for a few years, he told me that he had met some relative in Fushan and went there very often.

Many people like him who are lack of the knowledge would be misguided.

I am not defending for Sharon. She just expressed the truth; the true mind of American.

Just like the 911 event, when Arabians were asked about how they feel, they said that they had prepared big feasts for all their friends to celebrate this event.

Should we hate American? Not necessary. Nowadays, we have to live with the wolves. Just to keep in mind that our friendship or co-operation with American is for mutual benefit. That is the game we all have to play.

In fact, not only Sharon Stone, many famous American have the same attitude. I do not think that they are wrong. The only problem is that many Chinese blindly believe that American is always good.

Just like my colleague, they need to know more to find the truth.

F. Many Hong Kong managers were transferred to lead various operations.

At that time, I had been told that it was better to avoid telling truth to those Chinese local employees.

I was not one of them and I had only invited by a company to organize a four days training program in Shanghai and Beijing.

So I started to know many of them. After my co-operation with some local units for courses, I began to move around Guangzhou frequently for a number of years. Many of them were well educated young people and like to talk with me.

They expressed their envy for life in America. I understood that they were told by Hong Kong people because at that time there was no Internet and foreign news were not broadcasted in China. In Guangzhou, they could watch Hong Kong Television. But most would watch the Chinese channels.

I told them their concept was wrong. Since I might be the only one who said so, it would not be easy for them to trust. Therefore, I told them the way to know about a country was to read and see direct information, not interpreted or translated selectively by someone. As they could watch Pearl Channel, it would be good to watch CBS's 60 Minutes.

After some months, some of them told me that they now knew that every country had similar problem, not only China.

I watch 60 Minutes, 20/20 etc. for many years. Recently, thanks to Internet, I can watch CCTV too.

Of course, it may take a long time with continuous attention for anyone to get full knowledge of a country.

I believe that the TV station also found that the content of these TV program were contradict to their intention and therefore starting last year, the caption of translation in Chinese was replaced by English caption. The reason they claimed was for Hong Kong people to learn English. The hidden aim is easy to understand.

Recently, there is a follow up program about the subprime mortgage crisis. There is a statement: "Firms like Bear Stearns and Merrill Lynch sliced the loans into little pieces and packaged them up with other investments, then sold them to their best customers around the world as high-yield mortgage-backed securities, turning sows' ears into silk purses, all with the blessing of rating agencies like Standard & Poor's."

Chinese people should learn from this fact that these famous financial bodies are not trustworthy any more.

If you missed this program, you can read the written text or rerun from CBS. The web page for the text as well as comments can be found at The U.S. Mortgage Meltdown.

Remember not to take translated information; you must see the original from local source to find the truth.

Mortgage Meltdown。

F. Who would not like to be able to pay without worrying?

It may be too simple about my living. When it is a country, the problem will be much greater than one can guess.

Now, everyone cannot complain the fast reaction of China government against the earthquake. Now, someone asked why this time is much better than the previous one. Even an idiot can know, it is MONEY, STUPID.

Just like America, the slow reaction to the Katrina storm catastrophe was simply MONEY. The Bush government spent too much for the wars and it was hardly to do anything instantly.

No country will not respond to any catastrophe of their people. The attitude towards foreign aids is another problem, mostly political. I do not want to confuse my topic and therefore not to cover this case.

To compare the rescue performance of the two earthquakes and deliberately or not is indicating the work for the first one was worse and it would be like pointing fingers to our beloved Premier Chou Enlai.

At that time, thirty two years ago, the economic condition of China was very bad. Even if there was no Culture Revolution, the country remained under developed.

Of course, China is not yet rich in comparison. But at least, the country can afford to pay and the people can afford to donate.

Can China be like today without Chairman Mao and Premier Chou Enlai?

Remember the old Chinese saying, "The Ancestors plant, the successors get the harvest". When you are rich, you would forget who let you have the chance to get rich.

F. Of course, no matter how the country would face, there were some bad sheep. They might not be traitors, but they might be so selfish to care their own benefit. The most common sin is corruption.

We all know that corruption is not limited to one country. Every country in the world, developed or not, big or small, rich or poor, is not short of corruption.

This time I am not talking about why China always face unfair compliant. I shall leave it for the future.

There are thousands, millions and even billions patriots right before our eyes. Some are heroes Some are good officers.

But during recent press release events, they always asked about how to guarantee the use of funds etc. This hidden reason is corruption. I feel sad for them.

To show respect to heroes by all means or tons of medals cannot change the bad image made by a handful of corrupted officers. This is worse than any earthquake.

This year is the best time to start a campaign to fight against corruption. The root of corruption is the attitude of people.

Why? Why one wants to get money? Being rich will be respected by most people. Who would not like to be respected?

Of course, if you are a hero or a great leader, you will be respected. But it costs a lot of hard work and perhaps a lot of sacrifice.

Let all children know that if they receive anything from their parent, no matter how insignificant it will be, if the money is earned by their work, it is a godsend. If the money comes from untold source, no matter how nice it will be, it is a shame. Not only shame for the children, it is a shame to their country, it is a shame to their heroes.

Why children only? Well, the elders cannot be taught anymore. If the elders know this, they will not behave like fawningly to those rich ones.

I use to say such manner is worse than a prostitute. A prostitute offers her body to one who pay and that means she have exchange for money. Those behave fawningly to rich one have no money received and that means they offer their soul, their dignity for nothing.

F. Every one knows. Recently he met with specialists and urged for quake prediction technique against similar disaster in the future.

Certainly we all hope that one day we can have this type of technology.

However, not only such technique has not been developed and even Japan that faces the most frequent threat of earthquake is still far from predicting exactly where and when will happen and how big.

Just the other day, the CCTV-1 had invited a Chinese specialist and asked her about the natural signals like ants and birds etc. She said all such signals were recorded and studied. She was asked why not gave notice to people. She said that there was no sure date and could not say which area. By announcing this forecast, it would only create panic and chaos.

That is what I have said on May 18, the more advanced we are, the more difficult we can react, something like exceptionally over-weighted.

Just think about going to do such forecast.

When it is announced, it would like "There will be an earthquake in Sichuan from a few days to a few months from now. Everyone should prepare and avoid staying at home or any building."
People in Sichuan would ask which location and how big the earthquake.

Then scientists may have to say "It may be between 6.0 to 8.0. It may be the northern or central part of Sichuan."

Then local officers will ask for whether people in all these areas have to move out. If so, what date should we move?

Now, there is a difficult time for specialists or the government. Can you say to-morrow? Can you say three days after? If earthquake does not happen for a month, who will pay for the loss.

Nowadays, it costs so much a day in term of production. The cost of evacuation and the cost of feeding thousands if not millions for a month will be hard to face.

It may also happen that after a month, when fund is over or people have lost their patience and demand a return.

Can anyone guarantee the return will be safe?

All these problems cannot be solved by anyone.

Can we build all houses that can stay firm with the highest level of earthquake? Just check California. According the TV program of National Geographic, only the Town Hall has the base rebuilt against earthquake. In the program, the question of why not all the other buildings is money. The cost for the Town Hall project cost over two hundred millions. The simple fact is no country in the world can afford to build all houses with such standard. Even if such houses were built, the price would be too high for anyone except the billionaires.

About my saying about development, just refer to the tsunami of Indonesia in 2004. A village with about a thousand people had escaped unhurt. They have knowledge inherited from ancestors so that when the elder chief watched the color of the ocean, he immediately ordered the whole village to move up the mountain. Their livelihood is fishing; no building except simple huts that can be built again easily. All their precious belonging is their lives only. If we are like them, then it is easy to run for our lives even against false alarm.

The most annoying thing is to criticize others when you have no knowledge at all. Knowledge is free for all to achieve.

Come now! Do not put back your developed human body back to animal entities.

F. It is "Does the over development of Sichuan made the earthquake worse?"

The officer said that he could not understand this question. She added “There are chemical factories that would blow up during the quake,.,…”. Ah, that is the wish not for her I believe. Poor girl, she was brainwashed by Hong Kong news or by her editors.

The officer later said that Sichuan was ranked twenty something in China for development and had to try the best to develop. There is no blow up of chemical factory.

Perhaps, she would report the officer lied and hide the fact of explosion. There must be a lot of explosions that gave such tremendous quake. Perhaps the editor would changed it to the China was lying. It was a nuclear test.

Is it what they used to say, "making news"?

F. How about information from America? Recently there was a replay of National Geographic TV program about earthquake in California. Even advanced as America, there is no way to forecast when and where the earthquake will occur until it happened. OK, they may be too busy. Please read "The Next Big One—Earthquake Technology", this is based on the published article by National Geographic, not from China, feeling fine!

Sometimes, I am forced to say bad things. They might be better to have an American father. Ah, this means that they suffered because that was their mothers' wrong choice.

Back to the natural disasters, it is a sad thing for human. The more developed we are, the harder to avoid life threatening events. Developing is just like exceptional over-weighted. We cannot move easily because we cannot give up even it may cost our lives. That will be discussed later.

F. This is one article "China's one-child policy causes extra pain" among many.

It is a naive idea to have more children when it is known that the over increased population will lead to human disaster. We are human, not animals, we should care for the whole human race instead of individuals. Do not suppose that I am exception, I have one daughter only. My daughter told me that she did not want to have children and I just reminded her to think about herself before it was too late to regret only.

I do not want to say any bad thing about American. Yet, their wrong-doing really force me to do so. To have many children will not guarantee your gene. One American with four children, after checking the DNA, only one child is belonged to him. Well, that is not one child policy; that is one child American fact. No wonder for a survey about which type of man is popular resulted for Fedex.

F. The patriotism of nationals will be brought up in face of threat from outside.

However, the reaction from oversea Chinese is something that China could not hope for.

The most unexpected may be in Hong Kong. I am not saying that most Hong Kong people are anti-communists. But only a few will be patriotic to the New China.

The change from hundred thousands demonstration to low voting for the so called Demonstrative Party was not due to patriotism, but the REIT case that costed them the chance to gain.

Even though the news in Hong Kong are always bias, they had to show in a short time about the challenge by Hong Kong citizens against the icon of the Demonstrative Party during the Torch event.

I feel happy to see such change. So, thanks to those countries who still dream of turning over China.

F. My French manager told me that I was the only one in Hong Kong who would not think of migration.

Back to the present move, it is because every one knows about the Olympic torch event and the problem with Western media.

I do not want to repeat anything told. Of course, as usual, there are many who would not spend time to check all information and just took what they preferred.

If I have the change to tell China government, I would say "Keep on with what is doing today and continue even after the Olympic Games, until the date when the truth becomes universal. This is a war.”

For this moment, CNN, BBC etc. are losing all they achieved for years and from now on, they are just divisions under the dirty war department of their countries. Do not ask for apologize. That will give them chance to erase their bad conducts. Ask them to apologize is a wrong strategy.

CNN，BBC

F.
